Why won’t you let the sun shine on me
As it has shined on me so many times before?
Why must your turn my white clouds gray
Each time I walk out my door?
To say love is supposed to be simple
I find it hard, yet unique
What’s joyous is now a burden
And it is not brought on by me
Snatch my words from my lungs
Before I can even speak
I’m speechless by your actions
And now you have me questioning me
Is this karma in the nastiest form?
Or is this how life is supposed to be
I’m drowning in your thunderstorm
Each time you steal happiness from me
